Rue Lepic
Winding uphill through Montmartre in the 18th Arrondissement, Rue Lepic is one of the neighbourhood’s most characteristic streets, connecting the lively area around Place de Clichy and Pigalle with the quieter streets higher up the hill. Along the way, discover cafés, restaurants, bakeries, food shops and independent neighbourhood addresses alongside reminders of Montmartre’s artistic past.
Stop at the Café des Deux Moulins, famous for its appearance in Amélie, then continue uphill towards the historic Moulin de la Galette, one of the surviving windmills that recalls Montmartre’s former village landscape. The surrounding streets lead towards Abbesses, Place du Tertre and Sacré-Cœur, while the lower end of Rue Lepic is close to the Moulin Rouge and the nightlife of Pigalle.
