Rue Saint-André des Arts
Running through the 6th Arrondissement between Place Saint-Michel and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Rue Saint-André des Arts is one of the liveliest streets of the Left Bank. Its narrow historic route is filled with cafés, restaurants, shops, bookshops and cultural addresses, with a constant mix of visitors, students and neighbourhood life.
Look beyond the main street for passages, courtyards and smaller streets branching through this historic part of Paris, including the Cour du Commerce-Saint-André. The surrounding area is particularly good for wandering, with restaurants, bars, shops and galleries extending towards Rue de Buci, Odéon and Boulevard Saint-Germain.
At the eastern end, Place Saint-Michel provides easy Métro access and leads towards the Seine, Notre-Dame and the Latin Quarter. Walk west and the atmosphere gradually shifts into Saint-Germain-des-Prés, with its galleries, fashion, historic cafés and more refined shopping streets.
