Rue Daguerre

One of the best-known neighbourhood streets in the 14th Arrondissement, Rue Daguerre combines the atmosphere of a traditional Paris market street with the everyday life of southern Paris. Beginning close to Place Denfert-Rochereau, it is lined with food shops, bakeries, fromageries, greengrocers, butchers, cafés, restaurants, florists and independent boutiques.

Part of Rue Daguerre is pedestrianised, making it particularly enjoyable for browsing the food shops, market displays and neighbourhood terraces. Rather than monumental Paris, this is a street built around shopping, eating and daily local life, with traditional businesses sitting alongside newer restaurants and independent addresses.

Combine Rue Daguerre with the nearby Paris Catacombs and Place Denfert-Rochereau, or continue west through the 14th towards Montparnasse. The surrounding residential streets also reveal a quieter side of the arrondissement away from the main visitor routes.
