Boulevard Saint-Michel
One of the defining boulevards of the Latin Quarter, Boulevard Saint-Michel runs south from the Seine through the historic university district towards the Luxembourg Gardens. Known locally as the Boul’Mich, it has long been associated with student life, books, cafés and the intellectual history of the Left Bank.
Explore the boulevard around the Sorbonne and the streets leading towards the Panthéon, where bookshops, cinemas, cafés and restaurants mix with university buildings and historic architecture. Its central location also makes Boulevard Saint-Michel an excellent route between several major Left Bank destinations, with Notre-Dame and the Seine at its northern end and the Luxembourg Gardens further south.
