Rue du Bac
Running through the 7th Arrondissement from the Seine towards Sèvres-Babylone, Rue du Bac is one of the Left Bank’s most varied shopping streets. Lively and substantial rather than discreet, it brings together interiors, furniture, decoration, design, fashion, beauty, food and specialist boutiques along a long route through the heart of the Rive Gauche.
One of the street’s strongest features is its concentration of interior and design addresses, with furniture, lighting, textiles, decorative objects and specialist shops appearing alongside fashion boutiques and established French and international brands. Cafés, restaurants, bakeries, pâtisseries and gourmet food shops make it equally rewarding for browsing and stopping along the way.
Towards the Seine, Rue du Bac connects with the Musée d’Orsay and the art and antiques district around Rue de Lille and Rue de Beaune. Continue south and the street leads towards Le Bon Marché, La Grande Épicerie and Sèvres-Babylone, where fashion, interiors and design extend into Rue de Sèvres and Boulevard Raspail.
