Avenue de l’Opéra
Avenue de l’Opéra is one of the great avenues of central Paris, stretching from the Palais Royal towards the magnificent Palais Garnier. Created during the transformation of Paris in the 19th century, its unusually open perspective gives a direct view towards the Opéra, framed by elegant Haussmann architecture in the heart of the 1st and 2nd arrondissements.
Along the avenue, discover shops, cafés, restaurants and hotels, together with contemporary addresses including Apple Opéra. But some of the most interesting discoveries are found just beyond the avenue itself. On one side, explore Place du Marché Saint-Honoré with its restaurants and terraces, then continue towards Rue Saint-Honoré and Place Vendôme. On the other, the streets around Rue Sainte-Anne are known for Japanese, Korean and other Asian restaurants, alongside smaller shops and hidden passages.
At the Palais Royal end, continue towards the Louvre Museum, Galerie Vivienne and the gardens and arcades of Palais Royal. At the Opéra end, Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussmann are only a short walk away, making Avenue de l’Opéra a natural connection between culture, shopping and some of the most rewarding streets of the Right Bank.
